As a machinist, you are responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all machinery on board the ship and carrying out all machine work in all technical areas on board. You are responsible for all repair and maintenance activities on the entire ship, as well as all technological problems. You have to report to the captains and talk to them about priority tasks such as all current technical problems, their status, materials, and so on.

As a sailor, you will assist in mooring and disembarking the ship and ensure that guests can get off and on board safely by placing walkways, for instance. In addition, the main responsibilities of a sailor are to maintain, repair and clean all ship’s equipment, including the ship itself.

You will assist in all aspects of ship operations and navigation, while maintaining open lines of communication with the rest of the crew and officers. Rivertech is looking for experts who possess all of the following skills when employed with a Seaman’s Service Book. In addition, the following attributes are desirable;

Communication skills, physical fitness, attention to detail, mechanical skills and the ability to multitask.

As 2nd Captain, you will be responsible for the entire safe ship operation, navigation, manoeuvring, directing and supervising all nautical-technical matters. This job involves polite communication with many different people in different situations. You must be aware of everything that happens on the ship.

As a first Captain, you hold the position of primary responsibility for overseeing the overall operation of the ship. Your main duty is to ensure the safe navigation of the vessel from point A to point B. You are an experienced navigator who assumes leadership on board the ship. Captains must also be familiar with the various components of the vessel and be able to operate them successfully. They are responsible for maintaining the ship and its equipment in good condition and resolving any issues that may arise. Additionally, you have authority over the ship’s crew and are responsible for their overall performance. During the voyage, Captains are also accountable for operational-related activities. Captains must be capable of effective communication, making swift decisions, and navigating with ease.

As a Corporate Engineer, you will have supervision over a team of engineers onboard various vessels. Your responsibilities include conducting technical inspections onboard and providing support and guidance to the engineers in their duties as needed. Training new engineers is also part of your role. In the event of illness or absence, you may be required to take over a vessel, and we expect that this will not pose any issues.

Rivertech Technical and Nautical Management is currently seeking a motivated and flexible Technical Manager with experience in the maritime industry. Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in inland navigation or passenger shipping, who is accustomed to a dynamic and international work environment.

Due to an expanding fleet, we are seeking a well-educated Technical Manager to join our technical department and contribute to its growth.

You will report to the Financial and Administrative Manager.

As Technical Assistant / Planner at Rivertech, you will be an important link between our internal departments, our suppliers, our management and the engineers on board the river cruisers sailing on the major European waterways. In this dynamic position, you will work from our Arnhem office and be the assistant to the Technical Director.
