The inland department at Alphatron Marine has experienced rapid growth since its establishment. This is partly due to a well-functioning service network in Europe. The collaboration with JRC has resulted in a number of different models of river radars. We use existing techniques proven in the inland shipping sector and have thus created a versatile, reliable and safe range of products.
Alphatron offers custom-made products for the inland market. We are able to provide a modern wheelhouse with a full navigation package, whereby all tools are included. Furthermore, for existing ships, detailed equipment is available, where the price is just as important as the design.

JMR-611 river radar
The next generation river radar, the JMR-611, characterizes itself by an excellent suppression of wave action on wide water. In addition, this radar uses an aerodynamic scanner and an associated modified motor. This makes this radar extremely suitable for the most extreme weather conditions. With our JMR-611 river radar you are prepared for the future. The JMR-611 is the first river radar to meet the stricter requirements for maximum reflection from radar monitors. There is a choice of 2 different fully dimmable monitors, which of course both meet these new requirements. You can choose the standard 19 inch LED monitor, without protective glass with the familiar black aluminum front or the modern and refreshing all-glass 19 inch LED monitor, the LED panel is optical bonded to the glass for maximum performance. The JMR-611 radar is the first river radar, in combination with a GPS compass and smart calculation technology, to minimize the annoying waves on wide water. With this Sea State function, buoys and other small echoes will remain clearly visible, which are sometimes hardly recognizable on other radars. For a sharper display of the radar echoes, the radar is equipped with the Echo Border function and in combination with the Expansion function, the echoes will be displayed with a clear outline. Depending on the available space on board and the desired sharpness of the picture, different scanner units are available in sizes 6, 7 or 9ft. We have re-processed and improved certain functionalities from the JMA-610 model in this new radar, such as the prediction lines, docking information and image recording. In addition, there are also new developments, for example the 6 and 7ft antennas have an aerodynamic design, suitable for all weather conditions. For fast ships, the rotational speed of the antenna can be easily switched to high speed.
JHS-800S inland
The all-in-one JHS-800S (control unit with speaker, a transceiver with DSC) has high sensitivity performance, crystal clear HI-FI audio quality via the build in speaker, and protection rate of IP56. JHS-800S is the first Class A DSC Compatible marine VHF radiotelephone featuring a 5-inch high-brightness color LCD touchscreen, which makes it an outstanding innovative design. The A-Class VHF radio JHS-800S for marine use has been updated with a new function called Block Channel Function. The inland waterways in Europe are divided into different block areas, each using a different VHF channel. Normally the crew has to change the VHF channel manually. This is no longer necessary because of the Block Channel Function. The VHF channel is automatically adjusted to the correct block channel when the ship moves from one block area to another. This will make the VHF traffic much safer because the VHF radio can no longer be positioned on the wrong block channel. The JHS-800S has a Bluetooth microphone as a wireless handset and also new innovative functions for playback and record transmissions in real-time and an easy-to-operate self-diagnosis function.
AlphaRiverTrackPilot
The AlphaRiverTrackPilot is fully automated course and track control system for the inland shipping segment. This first fully automated autopilot system allows a ship to sail along a predefined line. The AlphaRiverTrackPilot will take off the burden of the captain not having to make many manual adjustments. The AlphaRiverTrackPilot sends steering commands to the autopilot system as values for desired rate of turn (ROT). The autopilot system controls the rudder angle so that the ship turns as required by our track control system. Compared to a normal river pilot, the AlphaRiverTrackPilot will calculate the required rudder output for the steering of the vessel as well as to compensate for drift. The position, orientation and motion of the ship are measured using a GPS compass together with a ROT sensor (gyro). Assisted by our proprietary compact joystick control panel, the captain can derive from the preset line and make small adjustment while navigating to the course of the vessel course. The choice of desired steering system automatic, follow up and track can be easily selected from the existing Alphatron Marine river pilot. The touchscreen of the control panel shows the most important data of the control system. It is possible to adjust and reset the offset to the guiding line, select different configurations and control parameters i.e. for different loading conditions. The touchscreen also displays detailed alarms and warning information. The track control system features a network interface for inland ECDIS chart displays. At first, the chart display shows the selected guiding line. Later, using the chart system, it is possible to select other guiding lines or create new guiding lines according to personal preferences and send them to the AlphaRiverTrackPilot. For passing and encountering other vessels there is an adjustable offset to the guiding line. The offset is easily changed by using the joystick on the control panel.
AlphaCam
Good and comfortable visibility is essential for safety on the waterways and open seas. The AlphaCam AHD camera line is a complete line of different cameras which all offer Full HD (1080p) image. The line consists of fixed focus cameras, zoom- and dome cameras for the maritime environment onboard ships, reassuring the safety of crew, passengers and cargo. Several interfaces are developed to control the zoom and dome cameras and the robust and durable design ensures many years of problem free operation. In many situations these cameras can replace the existing on board CCTV system without the need for new cabling as the remote control- and video signal of the zoom and dome PTZ camera is transmitted over the coax cable. Naturally besides the cameras, our solution includes full (select, switch and control) interfacing capability, joysticks and push buttons to operate the CCTV environment onboard
AlphaRiverPilot
The new AlphaRiverPilot MFS is literally and figuratively more accessible. Easier to install, but also very accessible for updates. In addition, this river pilot can be connected to multiple devices. Features are also being expanded. That does not mean either the AlphaRiverTrackPilot or the compass, but both options are possible. Interfacing a new product is only a matter of a software update with this river pilot.
