Blokland Group
About us
Blokland Group develops, produces and supplies heat exchangers, propulsion systems and related technical products for pleasure crafts, commercial shipping and industrial applications for many years.
In 1962, the founder of our company, Mr. Jan Blokland, started his own production line in a small foundry, specializing in heat exchangers and the rebuilding of parts for marine engines. Due to his enthusiasm, dedication and technical know-how, the company has grown into a modern machine shop equipped with high-quality production machinery.
Currently, the second generation Blokland is leading the company. A medium-sized enterprise with fifty-five competent workers.
Our aim is to serve the industry with a high standard of technical advice, products and services for the first time or as repeat customer
Please feel free to contact us for specific machining, maintenance, cleaning or repair jobs.
We have earned an excellent reputation, that we are very careful with!

Tunnel thrusters for Commercial Vessels
Tunnel thrusters positioned at the bow or stern of a vessel, can increase the maneuverability and support dynamic position operations. We can supply electric or hydraulic motor-driven tunnel thrusters from 35kW to 100kW in single propeller and counter rotating execution. CR tunnel thrusters can be chosen for vessels with limited draught or low noise requirements. Depending on the vessel hull material, the tunnel structures can be manufactured in steel, aluminum, or GRP.

Shell & tube heat exchangers
Blokland is leading in the production and supply of Shell & Tube heat exchangers/ oil coolers. These coolers are suitable for water, water-glycol mixture and various oils. The tube stacks are removable for service and maintenance. Blokland has a wide range of competitively-priced heat exchangers. We have many heat exchangers in stock, which means short lead times.

Expansiontanks
Every cooling system is equipped with an expansion tank. Blokland supplies standard expansion tanks with a capacity of 5, 10, 15, 24, 40, 60 and 80 liters from stock. These expansion tanks are equipped with a 1” or 2” BSP thread connection. The expansion tanks are supplied fully assembled with a pressure cap of 0.5 bar. A sight glass and level switch are used to inspect the tank. We are also able to deliver custom-made expansion tanks. Before

Propulsion systems
For commercial vessels, the reliability of the propulsion and rudder systems is extremely important. Downtime results in delays and high costs. Our propulsion systems are well equipped to fit commercial vessels and keep them moving forward anytime, anywhere. Our range of standardized, off-the-shelf products enables us to respond quickly to your immediate maintenance needs. Nevertheless, we can provide you with the fast delivery of our custom-made propulsion systems. Leveraging the large stock level in our warehouse, an accurate production planning and high-tech production facility, we are your partner in case of fast maintenance and service.

Greensonic Ultrasoon antifouling system
GreenSonic® anti-fouling systems to prevent bio fouling from reducing the efficiency of your installation. Environmental friendly alternative for copper based impressed current anti-fouling systems (ICAF). The GreenSonic® anti-fouling system will prevent your cooling system from overheating or blockages caused by marine fouling. The advanced, programmable, ultrasound system assists in keeping operational costs low and improves the heat transfer factor.

Azimuth Thruster for Commercial Vessels
Current Motion thrusters are designed to be able to use a rather big propeller diameter to have a maximum efficiency when the vessel speed is low. Due to the electric drive and the selection of the gear ratio’s, Current Motion offer the possibility to use the thruster at maximum load also with a smaller propeller, since the drive line is designed in a way that the thruster can be used within the propellers most efficient range, with a smaller or bigger diameter. To have a low sound level Current Motion will use a pulling propeller (tractor) to be able to have a optimum wake field in front of the propeller. This means the propeller can be designed for maximum efficiency without being forced to modify the blade design to deal with a bad wakefield in front of the propeller.
