Shallow Draft Thruster
The effects of climate change have led to a significant decline in water levels for many rivers worldwide in recent years. As a result, the ability to operate in shallow waters has become increasingly crucial. Shallower waters can impact propeller efficiency and raise the risk of damage from debris and silt. To address this challenge, Veth Propulsion has developed specialized propulsion and steering technology for shallow-draft ships, enabling operations in water depths sometimes even less than 2 meters.
