About us

Werkendam Maritime Industries is a cluster of 52 companies. Companies that, thanks to cohesion and cooperation, have everything in the maritime field on board and can bring everything on board.
The Werkendam maritime cluster is favorably located on the heavily navigated Merwede rivers. It has historically built a good reputation with the construction, repair, and maintenance of inland vessels. By now, there is more. Customers also know where to find Werkendam for vessels for sea and coastal shipping and for projects in offshore, dredging, or hydraulic engineering.
Clients from both domestic and international markets see the advantages of doing business with Werkendam: short lines of communication and craftsmanship in all disciplines. From writing a specification for a ship to delivering the specification in the kitchen drawers!
Werkendam Maritime Industries works together with the municipality of Altena (until 1-1-2019: Werkendam) on profiling the cluster and on good connections between education, government, and entrepreneurs.
