GreenChem’s AUS40 – Solution for the Marine Industry
What is AUS40?
AUS40, designed for marine ISO18611 applications, blends demineralized water and urea (40% urea content). It functions as a reduction agent in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, controlling and removing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from vessel engines. Compared to AdBlue® (which has a 32.5% urea content and is better suited for smaller engines), AUS40’s higher concentration allows it to meet the unique demands of bigger vessels, making it the optimal solution for marine clients who require efficient and reliable NOx emission control.
Why Does the Marine Industry Need AUS40?
The maritime sector faces increasing pressure to meet stricter environmental regulations and emission standards. Large vessels, with powerful engines and higher fuel consumption, produce significant NOx emissions, contributing to air pollution. SCR technology, combined with AUS40, offers a proven and effective way to meet these regulations by reducing NOx emissions to near-zero levels, ensuring compliance without compromising performance.
AUS40 addresses two key needs for the marine industry:
- Efficiency for Larger Vessels: Its higher urea concentration delivers enhanced reduction power, ideal for the operational demands of large-scale marine engines.
- Reliability for Compliance: Using AUS40 ensures that vessels stay within the regulatory standards set by organizations like IMO (International Maritime Organization).
