Waterbus has won the Outfit Sustainability Award 2024 for their conscious choices for environmentally friendly workwear and the recycling of worn clothing. In doing so, they saved 123.3 m³ of water (equivalent to 2,466 showers), 220 kg of raw materials and 120.6 kg of CO₂ – comparable to planting 5 trees.
The award is an initiative of Outfit Company Wear and is presented annually to a customer who excels in sustainability within the textile industry. After Diergaarde Blijdorp in 2023, Waterbus is the proud winner this year. The award ceremony took place on 17 March at the head office in Zwijndrecht.
Waterbus demonstrates that sustainability is not a side issue, but an integral part of their policy. Worn clothing is collected for recycling as standard and materials with a lower environmental impact are consciously chosen for new purchases.
With this award, Outfit Company Wear wants to encourage companies to take sustainable steps. With circular initiatives, such as the reuse of old clothing, customers take concrete steps together with Outfit towards a more sustainable textile chain.
The Sustainability Award underlines the importance of environmentally conscious choices in workwear and shows that every step counts.
