      Koninklijke Binnenvaart Nederland (KBN) is the leading industry organization for inland shipping in the Netherlands, with significant European influence. KBN is the body that serves as the natural spokesperson for the industry and its members, representing them to all levels of government and other organizations. KBN advocates for its various member groups and for the sector as a whole. KBN is active on a wide range of issues, including sustainability, modal shift, digitalization, and safety. There is also significant focus on infrastructure, nautical/technical matters, as well as employer interests and the labor market. KBN works not only for, but also collaboratively with members, stakeholders, and governments towards a sustainable future for inland shipping. As the leading industry association of and for inland shipping, with our broad support base, this work is pursued in a proactive manner. TOGETHER FORWARD! KBN represents various types of companies in the inland shipping sector, ranging from small to large across different sub-sectors such as tanker shipping, container shipping, dry cargo, towing and tugboat operations, passenger transport and logistics service providers, to advocate for their interests.
