Maritime Industry receives green light from the government

GORINCHEM – During the press conference on the 24th of June, the Dutch government announced that trade shows can be held again from the 1st of July. Meaning that Maritime Industry, which takes place on October 13, 14 and 15, 2020, received a green light from the government as well. During the press conference it became known that as long as people can keep a 1,5 meter distance from each other, there will no longer be a maximum number of visitors for events. Maritime Industry can and will comply with the required measures.

“With the green light from the government, we are more committed than ever to organize a trade show in October that, after a difficult corona-period, will boost the commercial and innovative development of the maritime sector. The protocols regarding keeping a 1,5 meter distance are put in place and we have made preparations to guarantee the 1,5 meter distance for Maritime Industry in collaboration with the municipality of Gorinchem.”, explains Bianca van Grinsven on behalf of Maritime Industry.

Van Grinsven: “We also feel supported by the previous positive feedback from the exhibitors who expressed their confidence in a safe and successful edition. With more than 350 exhibitors, the edition in October promises to be a good one. Even exhibitors who previously indicated that they would not come, are now registering again. Additionally, we receive positive messages from visitors, who normally meet each other several times a month at network meetings, drinks, seminars or trade shows. All of this is the starting signal for a beautiful edition, where the industry can meet up again after such a long time. We would like to thank our exhibitors, partners and visitors for their patience and trust during these times.”

“A condition for having an unlimited number of visitors during an event, is that they should be asked in advance whether they show any symptoms of Covid-19. In addition, visitors must register in advance, which was already applicable for Maritime Industry. Van Grinsven: “As soon as visitors are inside, they are allowed move freely across the exhibition floor. Naturally, the 1,5 meter distance will be implemented at all times on the exhibition floor. There is also the possibility to network with each other in areas designed for networking on the exhibition floor as well as outside. Moreover, additional hygiene measures will be taken, including disinfection stations at various places and extra cleaning of the sanitary facilities.

The Smart Badge, which already has been implemented at all trade shows of Easyfairs, makes it possible to scan company information on the stands of the exhibitors, and will now be even more important during Maritime Industry as no physical contact is required. The Smart Badge offers a digital alternative for shaking hands or exchanging business cards. After their visit, visitors receive an e-mail with an overview of all exhibitors whom he or she has scanned.
