We are proud! Minister Mark Harbers of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management presented the 1,000th Green Award for Inland Shipping certificate. The certificate, at the ‘gold’ level, is in the name of multifunctional dredger ‘Prins 1’. Jan Huijbers, general manager of Van den Herik, accepted the certificate. He did this in the presence of, among others, Jan Fransen, Executive Director of the Green Award Foundation and Pieter Struijs, one of the founding fathers and former chairman of the Green Award Foundation.
Minister Harbers: “I am impressed by what Green Award has achieved in stimulating and rewarding greening in the shipping industry. Inland shipping is a relatively clean mode of transport, but it needs to take steps to achieve the climate targets. Investing in greening is not only necessary but also good for the competitiveness of the shipping industry. The 1,000th certificate shows that the sector is working on it.”
