      Cargo Pumps

A safe, efficient and reliable cargo pump The NDW pumps from DESMI are energy efficient and well proven for pumping every media from LPG, to LEG over a wide range of chemicals, through to CO₂. If you start to count and visit cargo ships sailing around the world, you will notice that many DESMI Deepwell pumps are installed and in use. The number of parts and the efficiency of the pumps have been improved based on the operational experiences from our existing pumps and by means of modern design tools and our in-house test facilities.

    3. CDS 443

      CDS 443

Concordia Damen’s ‘CDS Dry Cargo 443’ is an efficiently designed inland waterway vessel aimed at satisfying the wish of more and more owners to contribute to sustainable shipping. To achieve this, our team has taken the hull of an already successful design and further developed it. The result: the renewed CDS 443 hull shape ensures up to 20% fuel savings! The 135 x 14.20 m (container or bulk) vessels can transport more tonnage and sail faster with lower fuel consumption, leading to lower emissions and more earning power than comparable vessels. For example, the ship allows for 18 container lengths to be placed in the hold instead of the usual 17. In other words, a significant expansion of cargo capacity. The optimised hull shape features low water resistance and adaptability to future propulsion and fuel types. Customers opting for diesel-electric propulsion can opt to have their ship already prepared for full-electric propulsion. In a time when both large and small shipowners are looking to reduce their (CO2) emissions, the CDS Dry Cargo 443 is the perfect choice. Clients have publicly stated that the combination of enlarged cargo capacity and 20% less fuel consumption was decisive in their choice for CDS 443 newbuild bulk carriers or container barges.

    4. CDS 532

      CDS 532

Concordia Damen’s ‘CDS Dry Cargo 532’ is a reliable, efficiently designed inland waterway vessel with an optimised hull shape that results in considerable fuel savings, while providing space for more tonnage at the same time. The 135 x 17.20 m (container or bulk) vessels can transport more tonnage and sail faster with lower fuel consumption, leading to lower (CO2) emissions and more earning power than comparable vessels. In addition to low water resistance, the design is adaptable to (or preparable for) future propulsion and fuel types, such as full-electric or hydrogen-electric propulsion. In a time when more and more shipowners aim to contribute to sustainable, yet affordable shipping, the CDS Dry Cargo 532 is the perfect choice to sail the inland waterways.

    5. CDS Dry Cargo 110

      CDS Dry Cargo 110

Concordia Damen’s ‘CDS Dry Cargo 110’ inland waterway vessel allows skippers to sail longer at low tides and shallow water levels, a useful feat in the current climate. The 110 x 11.45 m barges can transport more tonnage and sail faster with lower fuel consumption (hence, lower emissions) than comparable vessels due to their low resistance. This is not just a statement; it has been well-researched Another advantage is their favourable air draught, enabling shipowners to sail under (especially German) bridges of only 4.30 m with a draft of 2.50 m. The optimised hull shape is based on the shipyard’s already successful ‘Parsifal’ tanker design, which features low water resistance and future propulsion adaptability. In a time when both large and small shipowners are looking to reduce at their (CO2) emissions, the relatively small footprint of the CDS Dry Cargo 110 is the perfect choice. Clients have publicly said that these were decisive elements in their choice for CDS 110 newbuild bulk carriers or container barges.

    6. CDS Dry Cargo 222

      CDS Dry Cargo 222

Ship of the Year! In 2019, the Dutch Ship of the Year award went to an innovative inland shipping vessel: the ‘Sendo Liner’. This design was truly ‘future-proof’ according to the jury. The CDS Dry Cargo 222 is efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly. Increased capacity The result of the close and productive collaboration between Concordia Damen and client Sendo Shipping. This container/dry bulk ship has an optimised layout that increases its loading capacity by 8% relative to similar sized vessels. In addition, its innovative ballast system allows it to increase its air-draft when passing under bridges, while fully loaded. This in-house designed ballast system also increases its container capacity, making it a perfect ship for, amongst others, high cube containers. 40% less CO2 emissions per container Our philosophy includes a more efficient, cleaner future of the inland waterways, that its clients sail on. This has led to several design choices. For example, its diesel-electric propulsion system is backed up with a large battery pack that can be recharged via a shore connection. Add to that the increased cargo volume and reduced hull resistance – another step forward in terms of fuel efficiency – and you’ll find that the CDS Dry Cargo 222 achieves a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions per container transported! Modular design The design is modular. This means that future adaptations, as well as maintenance, are easy. The ship can easily switch propulsion types, making the CDS Dry Cargo 222 low-emission leader throughout its entire lifespan.

    8. CDS Tanker 110

      CDS Tanker 110

With the ‘Parsifal’ inland waterway tanker Concordia Damen introduced a new, successful generation of mineral tankers to the river transport market for both small shipowners and energy companies. Measuring 110 x 11.45m and proven to offer a larger carrying capacity and lower fuel consumption than comparable tankers, including at (very) low water levels, these optimised designs offer low resistance and an optimal 'speed-power curve'. This combination of features makes the ship more efficient and the transport per ton more environmentally friendly. Parsifal tankers are designed in such a way that propulsion types are adaptable (e.g. diesel-electric, diesel-direct, LNG-electric, H2-electric). Last, we build Parsifal hulls on stock, shortening delivery time by months.
