For over 15 years, Nobel’s quay has been ISPS-certified. However, strict safety regulations often result in administrative burdens, delays, and high costs. Due to the electric drive and the selection of the gear ratio’s, Current Motion offer the possibility to use the thruster at maximum load also with a smaller propeller, since the drive line is designed in a way that the thruster can be used within the propellers most efficient range, with a smaller or bigger diameter. To have a low sound level Current Motion will use a pulling propeller (tractor) to be able to have a optimum wake field in front of the propeller. This means the propeller can be designed for maximum efficiency without being forced to modify the blade design to deal with a bad wakefield in front of the propeller.
