Olthof Scheepsservice was founded in Rotterdam in 1924 under the name Motorenbedrijf Olthof. After the bombing of Rotterdam, the company moved to its current location in Capelle a/d IJssel.
The first activities were maintenance and repair of Brons (marine) diesel engines. These activities were soon expanded with engine-related activities, such as maintenance of pumps and compressors, alignment work and turning work. Ironwork was later added, laying the foundation for today’s business activities.
Hydraulic and electrical work was later added through takeovers.
After Brons stopped producing engines, dealerships for Mitsubishi and Doosan-Daewoo (marine) diesel engines were acquired.
Due to its favorable location on the Hollandsche IJssel near the Brienenoord bridge with approx. 200 meters of its own quay (free of harbor dues) with excellent facilities, Olthof is the ideal partner for inland shipping, dredging and coastal shipping.
