Constructiebankwerker Scheepsbouw
Do you build the most precise structures?
At De Gerlien Van Tiem, we are looking for a structural metalworker who is technically strong, works with precision, and thrives on steelwork accurate to the millimeter. Someone who understands drawings. Who thinks ahead before the first cut is made. And who understands that no ship, no structure, and no project is the same. Because here, you don't work on standard work. Today you assemble a steel structure for a repair project. Tomorrow you work on a complex conversion. And next week you help build a new inland waterway vessel. From minor repairs to complete transformations: we handle it. We have been doing so for almost 60 years. With short lines of communication, a down-to-earth approach, and a team that supports each other.
What will you be doing?
As a structural metalworker, you will contribute to diverse projects within the repair, conversion, and new construction of inland waterway vessels.
You will:
• read and interpret technical drawings
• measure, mark out, and prepare work activities
• saw, grind, torch, and process steel and structural parts
• independently assemble structures and components
• fit, measure, and check dimensions during assembly
• ensure that parts fit together accurately before further assembly or welding
• collaborate with ironworkers, welders, mechanics, and project management
• contribute ideas when practical needs require a different solution.
At our company, there isn't always a standard blueprint ready. Sometimes a ship arrives, and you first have to inspect, measure, and build a solution together. That practical and solution-oriented approach was literally reflected in your session.
This is you
You:
• have experience as a structural fitter, assembler, or in steel construction
• can work independently from drawings
• have technical insight and a feel for dimensions
• work accurately and have an eye for detail
• think practically and solution-oriented
• see work that needs to be done and take responsibility
• make a positive and flexible contribution to the team
• are willing to work extra hours if the project requires it
In addition, you have:
• an MBO working and thinking level, acquired through a technical education (such as LTS, MTS, metalworking, structural engineering, or mechanical engineering) or extensive practical experience in the technical field

Service monteur / Inbedrijfsteller
