𝟭𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝗸𝗪 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱!

𝟭𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝗸𝗪 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The supplied motor concerns a brand new ABB M3BP450LC squirrel cage motor with brake, executed for:

* 1250 kW
* 440V
* 60Hz
* 1193 RPM
* IP55 protection
* S2-60 min duty
* IM3011 V1 mounting
* total weight approximately 4.800 kg

The motor was additionally equipped with:

* special winding execution for 440V / 60Hz operation
* thermistor protection circuits (130°C and 150°C)
* integrated anti-condensation heating
* separate auxiliary terminal box
* SFB160 brake assembly (1600 Nm)

To ensure compatibility with the existing thruster installation, the motor was supplied with a custom B5 flange configuration and specific shaft dimensions adapted to the onboard setup. The complete execution was supplied in accordance with Lloyd’s Register requirements including certification and routine testing.

Bow thruster applications place high demands on starting torque, thermal performance and operational reliability, especially during marine manoeuvring operations. In replacement projects like these, maintaining compatibility with the existing onboard installation is often just as important as the motor specifications themselves.
