Robotcel
Rubber Design BV Automates Quality Control with New Robot Cell Rubber Design BV has further automated its quality control with the introduction of an advanced robotic cell. This innovative system increases capacity for fully automated 100% inspection of vibration dampers and contributes to even more efficient and accurate quality assurance. At Rubber Design BV, vibration dampers undergo a complete inspection process in which unloaded height and static properties are measured on a test rig. Only products meeting the specified requirements are assigned a unique test number, after which the test data is automatically stored in a database. Upon delivery, this data is linked to the customer’s project information, ensuring that test records are always available for follow-up or replacement if needed. In recent years, Rubber Design has experienced significant growth, both in production volume and facility size. In response to this development, a new automation solution has recently been implemented, consisting of two robots for loading and unloading, and an advanced test rig capable of measuring loads up to 400 kN (40,000 kg). Thanks to this innovation, products can now be fully automated throughout the process—from loading and testing to being marked with a unique number and placed onto a pallet, which is then temporarily stored in a racking system. After a complete measurement cycle, an employee can initiate automatic processing of the pallets containing tested products and their corresponding labels, after which they are ready for storage in the warehouse. With this new automation, Rubber Design BV continues to meet the high quality standards required in the industry and takes another step forward in innovation and process optimisation.
Roof-mounted Radar Masts
Our aluminium roof-mounted radar masts are mounted on the wheelhouse. This enables the space on the aft deck to be used optimally. Folding the radar mast forward or back or lowering it telescopically requires only a short movement. As an option, the decorative wings can also tilt. Discover more on our website!

Rotor Manoeuvring System (RMS)
The Rotor Manoeuvring System (RMS) has been specifically developed to increase safety during navigation. It offers ships increased steering power in the bow and significantly improves manoeuvrability by providing thrust to overcome lateral wind forces. The operation of the RMS is based on the Magnus effect, whereby a lift force is generated by a submerged rotating composite tube that greatly improves the course stability of an unloaded ship. The RMS functions at a sailing speed from 6 km/h. By using this manoeuvring system a ship’s crew can reduce steering movements, resulting in reduced resistance and fuel savings. Advantages: - Fast changeover between port and starboard power - Compact compared to conventional rotor bow manoeuvring systems and bow thruster systems - Increased steering power in the bow - Results in fuel savings when used correctly - Operates as soon as the bow thruster stops working

Routers & Antennes
In addition to subscriptions, we also supply the necessary hardware such as routers, smartphones, tablets, and antennas. Whether you are looking for a reliable 5G connection to work from anywhere or a router with multiple SIM cards for on board your inland waterway vessel, we are happy to help you find the right solution.

Rover-spudpalen
Rubber Bellows
Rubber Bellows Flexibility in pipework is indispensable in today’s technically advanced plant and machinery installations. Rubber Design produces bellows and compensators of the highest quality standard that guarantee maximum safety and performance. Based on our years of experience we developed a wide range of products for cooling water, fuel and lubrication oil pipework systems. Not only tested in our labs but mainly in practice. It is in the demanding conditions at sea that our products over the years have proven their quality and durability. But as there is always room for improvement we keep on developing new products. Using innovating techniques and new materials.

Rubber expansion joint with flanges
Rubber compensator with flanges PN10/16 L=130 available from DN 32 to DN 300 from stock. Compensators, also called expansion pieces, are used for installations that are subject to movements. These movements can vary from very slow (thermal expansion or contraction) to very fast (vibration). Thermal expansions can cause unfavorable material stresses in pipes. Installing compensators prevents this unwanted material tension. Vibrations also cause tension and cause disturbing noises in the working and living environment. Installing compensators prevents this.

Rubbing Strake Ropes
Our Rubbing Strake Ropes are specifically designed for securing wooden rubbing strakes (wrijfhout) on large vessels, providing reliable fixation and long-term durability in heavy-duty marine operations. These ropes are used to firmly attach protective wooden fenders along the vessel’s hull, preventing damage during berthing, lock passages, and close-contact operations. Manufactured from high-quality synthetic fibers, our ropes offer excellent resistance to abrasion, weather conditions, and continuous mechanical stress. Their robust construction ensures consistent performance, even in demanding inland and maritime environments. Easy to handle and install, our rubbing strake ropes are widely used by inland shipping operators and marine professionals who require dependable and cost-effective solutions for hull protection systems. Available in standard diameters and pre-cut coil lengths, ready for immediate use. Durable. Reliable. Built for real working vessels.
