Allround system integrator
Allround system integrator All-around system integrator Van der Leun is your specialist in the design, engineering, installation, and maintenance of reliable and efficient electrical systems for the maritime industry, including onshore and offshore operations. Our philosophy: implementing full control of all on-board processes with intelligent use of materials. In this respect we have the major advantage of being all-around system integrators, capable of implementing fully integrated on-board installations. Fully integrated installations allow you to monitor and control all your processes in a simple and uniform manner. Van der Leun is, of course, equally happy to take care of specific single parts of the installation work. From design to commissioning From the design to the commissioning phase our specialists work on the basis of a single work methodology, under strict project management procedures. We maintain full control of the whole process, including the supply of materials and parts. As a result, we meet the requirements of all major classification societies, including Bureau Veritas, Lloyds, the Netherlands Shipping Inspectorate, Rina, Chinese Shipping, Det Norske Veritas, Suez Canal Authorities, and Panama Regulations.

Metalworks van der Leun
Metal machining Cutting operations, sheet-metal working, and construction work are the spearpoint activities at the Van der Leun metal machining division (Van der Leun Metaalbewerking). As an independent division, this is an important supplier for our electrical installations. We also supply foundation blocks, equipment housing, cable chains, and similar equipment to a wide customer base.

Power Management System (PMS/AMS)
Van der Leun's power management system monitors and controls the electrical and mechanical aspects of your whole shipboard energy system. AMS allows you to manage the main circuits or to map the synchronization of the various units. Our software is always developed for your specific installation and configuration. This maximizes the efficiency and reliability of our systems.

Proximity switches sps 20- Van der Leun
Van der Leun proximity switches can be used for various applications. They are typically used in instances where metal detection is a prerequisite for safe working conditions. The SPS 20 features a durable SS 316 steel housing and a standard 10 meter cable. The system is designed to withstand oil and salt water in order to guarantee a long life cycle.

Cable chains van der Leun
Cable chains serve to guide the loose cables and hoses of machinery. They are mainly used to support cables and hydraulic lines that run from the fixed parts of the vessel to a flexible components or object. Examples are suction pipe systems, skidding systems, jacking systems, spud carrier systems, cutter ladders and crane systems. The Van der Leun cable chains are smart adaptable systems. Based on your project specifications, we calculate the radius and load-bearing capacity and provide the ideal cable chain for you. Our cable chains have proven their value on many occasions and in various applications worldwide. Given the great diversity of applications, each cable chain requires its own unique design. All cable chains are custom-made for each application and we import your application data using state-of-the-art 3D drawing systems. Our cable chains are made from high-grade, robust and solid stainless steel 316 that remains intact and continues to function optimally even under the most extreme conditions and with the heaviest vibrations on, for example, heavy-rock cutter suction dredgers. It is important to ensure that a cable chain is properly secured and that the radii of the ship or equipment-based cables and hoses are taken into account. This is at the heart of our standard procedures, based on quality and excellent workmanship. It is what makes us stand out. Want to know more? Feel free to contact us!

Heat exchangers - Van der Leun Electrical Marine Systems
Following the introduction of water-cooled power electronics in variable-frequency controllers, we designed our own Van der Leun heat exchanger. This heat exchanger has been specially developed to ensure a stable cooling water temperature while minimising condensation in the frequency controls. The heat exchanger - also known as the Hex Unit - is available in several variants. We also have a Mini Hex, which is the Hex Unit's little brother. Both units are designed in such a way that the components are easily accessible from the front for maintenance. The Mini Hex has a soldered heat exchanger and is smaller in size. The piping system also has a smaller diameter than its big brother, but due to the dual-stage vane pump its flow equals that of the big hex unit in certain situations. The standard capacity of the Mini Hex is 40KW, in the version with a plate heat exchanger it is also available with slightly larger capacities. The standard design of the Hex Unit comes with a plate cooler, which can be extended to 180 kW. Instead of a technical water system, seawater can be used for cooling. If required, the plate coolers can be supplied with a classification certificate. Both systems can be equipped with a single or double pump, and also for the supply of external and internal water the configuration may vary. The Hex Units have a dedicated control circuit with a three-way valve. An overpressure valve ensures that the pressure does not reach undesired levels. Deaeration of the system occurs at three locations: on the pump itself to prevent the seals running dry; on the cooler by means of an automatic deaerator, and by manual deaeration. The latter is also used for filling the system. Want to know more? Feel free to contact us!

Consoles - Van der Leun Metaalbewerking
Are you looking for new or replacement metal parts and products? Van der Leun Metaalbewerking has built a name regionally as a reliable partner for fast delivery of many different metalworking products. We use many different types of metals and alloys to provide our customers with the desired individual parts, assemblies, or complete constructions. We use machining to get the metal into the correct shape. Examples of machining include boring, grinding, turning, milling, planing and cutting. Metaalbewerking also includes sheet working techniques such as rolling, setting, cutting, forging, casting, and welding. With these techniques, we meet the many demands and requirements of our customers.
PROXIMITY SWITCH SPS20 - Van der Leun Electrical Marine Systems
We work aboard vessels that are deployed in very heavy and intensive operations in the dredging and offshore industry, in many varying conditions, in rain, wind, sun and ice and at temperatures ranging from -20 to 55 degrees. We incorporate the experience gained in these conditions into our installations and other products. This prompted the development of Van der Leun's proximity switches, among other products. The proximity switches can be used for various applications where the detection of metal is a must in order to create a safe working environment. Proximity switches generally do not last long in the circumstances described above. For instance, iron and other heavy tools may fall on the proximity switch and damage it. Van der Leun's heavy-duty switches can withstand such impacts due to its durable SS 316 steel housing, which can stand rough handling. As a standard feature, the SS 20 is equipped with 10 metres of cable, but smaller or greater lengths are possible on request. To guarantee a long service life, the cable is oil and seawater resistant. Each proximity switch is manufactured in a manual process and tested for functionality. We stock the sps20 as part of our standard range. Want to know more? Feel free to contact us!

Betabridge - Van der Leun Electrical Marine Systems
The manufacture of wheelhouse desks has been one of our specialities for many years. Take every detail into account, we link functionality to key aesthetic and ergonomic requirements. The result is the Bètabridge. Conspicuous features are rounded shapes, divisibility of the upper and lower sections, ease of operation and good sightlines. Because every ship is unique, we make desks entirely to measure. No size is impossible for us. Of course, you can also choose the colour you like. Because the bridge is the central spot of ships, it deserves extra attention and comforts, such as integration and accessibility of all necessary components from different suppliers. These have to be assembled and applied in various ways. As regular servicing is also important, depth-adjustable back plates make it possible to do this as efficiently and effectively as possible. In addition to supplying your desk, we can also make sure the desk integrates smoothly with all your ship's systems. Want to know more? Feel free to contact us!
