Tender Shipyard Rotterdam: Because we are located in the middle of the port of Rotterdam and work for the service providers of the port, we heard that there is a need for a fast tender that can be deployed in the event of calamities and incidents. We responded to this by developing a fast tender. Shipyard Rotterdam offers these fast tenders, as a high-quality service, to all our port partners. And to guarantee the reliability and continuity of our service providers, we also enable them to use a loan vessel during repairs. The tender can reach a maximum speed of 43 kn, because it is equipped with a John Deere 6090 SFM 85 engine and a Doen waterjet DJ 142. By using this drive, our tender can be on site very quickly, wherever the action may take place. This makes the vessel extremely suitable for piloting ships and safely dropping off people. Furthermore, this tender is equipped with fenders all around the ship and a push bow for smooth and flawless operations. At Shipyard Rotterdam, safety comes first, which is why we have integrated a MOB platform to safely retrieve drowning people from the water. Thanks to the Doen waterjet, there are no dangerous rotating parts under water. We have even thought of fire fighting with a special connection for a fire water pump. The seats on the bow are removable, so that more space can be created. This makes it possible to take extra supplies with you to calamities or incidents. We are excited to announce that our craftsmen have started building the ‘Tender Shipyard Rotterdam’. The hull of the ship is made of aluminum and the superstructure of carbon.

With our patented Multipulsion® principle, we created a balanced, non-uniform propeller. By combining different approaches for the variation of the blade geometry with methods of compensating for the imbalances thus caused, Promarin designed a completely new propeller. Its behaviour was extensively simulated using our most modern processor cluster. The simulations exceeded expectations and showed that the Multipulsion® successfully combines multiple effects to reduce noise. Not only does the Multipulsion® eliminate harmful harmonics, it also smears the vortices that normal propellers develop at their blades tips, which can cause destructive cavitation and extreme noise. These improvements do not come at the cost of a higher fuel consumption because the Multipulsion® is still a propeller in the classical sense – just more intelligently made.

MAN Engines is expanding its existing engine portfolio for workboats with the new MAN D3872LE4xx. This newly developed V12 engine for commercial applications draws its power from a displacement of 30 litres. MAN engines have always stood for a low power-to-weight ratio. With the MAN D3872LE4xx, we offer an even better solution for demanding applications with more power and a larger displacement. The MAN D3872 is based on a completely new engine that benefits from the findings of the established MAN D2862 V12 engine series. MAN engines stand for robustness. Together with the compact exhaust gas aftertreatment system, the modified engine control unit meets current legal requirements such as IMO Tier III and Stage V.
