Gangways and accommodation ladders
Gangways and walkways assure smooth handling of embarking and disembarking passengers, as rapidly and comfortably as possible. It is with this in mind that Blommaert designs, calculates and manufactures these highgrade ship boarding products. From different types of gangways, walkways and accommodation ladders in aluminium, to stairs and platforms. We make them all in our own workshops entirely to the customer's specification. In doing so, we place quality at the forefront together with the safety of our employees. Our products can be fabricated with certificated welding, tested by accredited inspection agencies such as Bureau Veritas. Discover more on our website!

Solar hatches
With solar panels on your hatches, a 100% green energy will be generated. You will save on shore power and fuel costs. When combined with a battery system, Solar hatches reduces the time you will need to use the generator, allowing for savings on maintenance costs and also extending the lifetime of your generator. Solar panels allow you to be less dependent on price increases of fuel and shore power, now and in the future, as solar energy is free. Purchasing solar panels also allows for tax benefits and subsidies. These are applicable on both the custom hatches and the battery and solar panel system. With a Solar shutter system you can therefore achieve a return of 5 to 10% per year*. Our solar panels are highly efficient, thin and ultra lightweight. The solar panels require little maintenance, are dirt-resistant, robust and will be custom designed for your hatches. All components are IP67 certified and protected against dust, corrosion and salt water.. This is a complete solar panel system including integrated micro-inverters and cabling. The system is plug & play and can be easily connected to the on-board grid by your electrician. Frisian-style Hatch Covers
The Frisian-style hatch cover is a commonly used hatch cover for inland navigation vessels. It consists of separate aluminium hatch covers that are made to measure to match the hold width (from 4 to 12.5 metres). These hatch covers usually consist of three sections: two sloping sections that rest on the coaming, with a horizontal walkway in between. The most common type is the one that does not require any bar holes (notches) to be made (for a smooth coaming). Discover more on our website!

Sliding Hatch Covers
Blommaert aluminium sliding hatch covers meet all bulk and inland navigation needs. They are tailor-made for the vessel, durable, easy to maintain plus, thanks to their low weight, easy to operate manually. The more panels on different levels, the further they can be opened. EPDM seals between the levels keep the hold dry, and the hatch covers have guide wheels on only one side to compensate for differences in hold width. In addition, they can be easily stacked using hydraulic cylinders. We offer different types of sliding hatch covers: Delta sliding hatch covers, smooth sliding hatch covers and stacking hatch covers. Discover them on our website.
Hydraulic Hatch Cranes
Blommaert hydraulic hatch cranes are designed to enable Frisian-style hatch covers and other stackable marine hatch covers to be carefully stacked and moved. This combination is ideal because it ensures that all the elements in each project are coordinated. The most commonly used are the type HLW hatch cranes, either in the retractable version or otherwise (because of gangway width). We also make s-HLW hatch cranes or manually operated hatch cranes for smaller vessels, tug-pushed barges and vessels that need to open and close occasionally or do not have a power supply.
